A Jeep Liberty's Interior Lights Won't Go Off
by Daniel ValladaresIf the interior lights on your Jeep Liberty stay on, there could be three possible issues: the fuse is stuck, one of your doors is open, or the light switch is set to the "ON" position. All three of these issues have very simple solutions that should not take more than ten minutes to solve. As leaving the interior lights on in your Jeep Liberty can drain the battery, it is important that you fix the issue as soon as you can.
Step 1
Park the Liberty and turn the engine off.
Step 2
Open and close all of the Liberty's doors. Make sure every door is closed all the way. If the lights are still on, you may need to check to the light switch.
Step 3
Press the light switch on the headlamp control panel. It should be fully depressed for the lights to be off. If the switch is in the "OFF" position and the lights are still on, the fuse may be stuck.
Step 4
Open the hood and remove the cover from the underhood fuse block. Locate the fuse in slot 7. This is the interior lighting fuse. Remove the fuse from the fuse block and replace it with a new 10A fuse.
Step 5
Reattach the fuse box's cover and close the hood.
