How to Disable a Honda Odyssey Car Alarm
by Zyon SilketAccording to numerous online forums and websites dedicated to the Honda Odyssey, many people experience issues with the factory security alarm going off at random times without provocation. Understandably, this could be annoying in the middle of the night or while you are at work. You can disable the alarm system by unplugging the hood latch sensor. This prevents the alarm from arming. This in turn, prevents the alarm from going off at random times.
Step 1
Pull the hood release latch. Depending on the year of Odyssey you own, the latch is under the dash panel or located on the floorboard to the left of the driver's seat. Open the hood and secure it using the hood prop.
Step 2
Locate the hood latch lock in the center of the Honda, right in front of the radiator. The hood latch is under the radiator shroud and is visible through the hole the hood latch goes through.
Step 3
Locate the wiring harness next to the hood latch on the right side. Pull up on the locking tab in the center of the harness and unplug it. This disables the hood latch sensor and prevents the alarm from arming.
