How to Deactivate the Auto Door Locks on a Dodge Caravan
by Daniel ValladaresThe auto lock feature on your Dodge Caravan can be either a convenience or an annoyance. If enabled, the doors of your Caravan will lock automatically if the transmission is in gear, all the doors are closed and the vehicle is moving at a speed above 18 mph. If you wish to disable your Caravan's auto lock feature, you can do so using only your Caravan's key. It only takes a couple of minutes to disable the Dodge Caravan's auto lock feature.
Step 1
Close all of the doors of the Caravan and insert the key into the ignition.
Step 2
Move the key to the "ON" position, and then back to the "OFF" position. Repeat this step four times.
Step 3
Press the driver's side door lock to the "LOCK" position within 10 seconds of turning the ignition to the "OFF" position. If done properly, a single chime will emit from the Caravan to indicate that you have disabled the auto-lock feature.
