How to Change a Dome Light in a Chevy Traverse
by Johnathan CronkThe Traverse is a full-sized crossover sport-utility vehicle designed and manufactured by General Motors under the Chevrolet name brand. The Traverse can seat up to eight people. The Chevy Traverse is equipped with an interior dome light, which allows passengers to have increased lighting when needed. The interior dome light also provides lighting when the vehicle doors are ajar. It's important to replace a burnt-out interior dome light to ensure safety at all times and proper visibility within the vehicle.
Step 1
Park the Traverse. Turn off the interior light switch. The interior dome light is found next to the exterior light switch. Press the button that has a lamp with a line through it once. This will turn the interior light completely off.
Step 2
Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry off the dome light cover. Place the screwdriver on the side of the lens and push. The cover will come off easily. You now have access to the bulb.
Step 3
Remove the bulb by gently pulling it out of the socket and discard it.
Step 4
Install a replacement dome light bulb. Align the bulb with the socket and push the bulb into place. You will hear the bulb click; this signals the bulb is secured.
Step 5
Place the dome light cover back onto the ceiling of the Traverse. The cover will snap back into place. Align the cover and push firmly. The dome light is now changed and ready for use. Turn the dome light back on by pressing the dome light button once.
