How to Bypass a Viper Car Alarm
by Matthew FortunaYour Viper car alarm allows you to program it to a wireless remote for control. You can bypass, or reset, the remote in just seconds from the system itself. You may need to bypass the alarm if the remote has run out of batteries, the system will not turn off or it fails to work as you originally programmed it.
Step 1
Press and hold the "Disarm" button on your remote until the alarm turns off. (You may have tried pressing this button first, and the remote may have failed to work.)
Step 2
Enter your car, insert your key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position. If this does not work, you must access the alarm transmitter.
Step 3
Remove the dashboard panels around your ignition switch to find the system transmitter. (The method for removing the panels will vary according to your vehicle. See your owner's manual for specific instructions.)
Step 4
Press and release the toggle switch (also known as a valet switch) on your alarm until the alarm stops chirping (or emits a beep and the LED light turns off, if the alarm was not sounding).
