How Much Weight Can a Jeep Wrangler Tow?
by Justin CuplerThe 2014 Jeep Wrangler is such an off-road icon, some folks often forget that it is also capable of hauling a trailer. Sure, it's not a heavy-duty pickup truck that can pull a 10,000-pound trailer as if it were a Radio Flyer wagon, but it is quite comfortable hauling a small fishing boat.
Towing Capacity
Most 2014 Jeep Wranglers can tow 2,000 pounds, but there are some that can handle a 3,500-pound trailer. These heavier-capacity Wranglers include the four-door Sport with the 3.73 axle, the four-door Sahara model with the 3.73 axle and the four-door Rubicon model with the 4.10 or 3.73 axle.
To help make towing easier, Jeep also offers an optional Trailer Sway Control feature that helps prevent unwanted swaying motions while hauling a trailer.
