Honda has been manufacturing the Accord since 1976. This is one of their most popular midpriced, midsized cars. You may need to turn off the Check Engine light in your Honda Accord after you have installed a new part under the hood. You can turn off the light by removing a particular fuse. This is an easy job that requires no extra tools and will only take about a half-hour of your time to complete.

Step 1

Turn off the engine.

Step 2

Remove the gas cap then put it back on and tighten it.

Step 3

Locate the fuse panel cover on the lower part of the passenger's dashboard. Open the fuse panel cover by pulling down on it with your fingers. Read the diagram on the back of the fuse panel cover and locate the "Clock" fuse.

Step 4

Find the fuse puller inside the fuse panel and remove it. Use it to pull out the clock fuse.

Step 5

Wait a half-hour and then put the fuse back into place. This will reset the check engine light as well as the clock and radio settings.
