How to Reset the Oil Change Light on a Ford
by Mikhail PoleninMany vehicles might not recognize that they have new oil when you change it because the warning is designed to show up whenever you pass a certain amount of miles. After you change the oil, you must reset the system to remind you to change the oil at a later time. Ford vehicles include a way for you to reset this in minutes.
Step 1
Start your vehicle and leave the engine running.
Step 2
Shift to "P" on your transmission. This puts the car in parking mode.
Step 3
Press the "Setup" button on your dashboard repeatedly until you reach "Change Oil."
Step 4
Hold down the "Reset" button for some seconds until you hear a beep. This signifies that you reset the oil monitor.
