How to Reset the Airbag Light on a Toyota
by KateboYou can reset the airbag light or SRS light on your Toyota yourself in your own garage. When it lights up, it's an indication that there is a problem with the Supplemental Restrain System (SRS). You should take it to a mechanic for repair immediately, as you do not want your airbag to deploy while you are driving. After it has been fixed, you should reset and turn off the airbag light. You don't need any special tools to do this.
Step 1
Find the fuse panel cover under the steering column and open it with your fingers. Pull down on it from the top.
Step 2
Look for a yellow electrical connector. This is the SRS power connector. Pull the connector out of the panel.
Step 3
Take a paperclip and unfold it. Jump the wire by attaching one end of the paperclip to each of the two terminals. This will reset the SRS light.
Step 4
Put the yellow electrical connector back in place and close the panel cover.
