How to Remove a Headlight Lensby Alibaster Smith
The headlight lens on some vehicles is not a sealed unit, or is sealed using retaining clips and a sealer to keep the lens portion of the headlight attached to the main housing. If the seal breaks, moisture can get inside the housing assembly and cause an electrical short or catastrophic failure of the bulb. If you need to reseal the housing assembly, then you need to know how to first remove a headlight lens.
Open the hood of your vehicle and locate the metal retaining clips that surround your headlight assembly if applicable.
Pry the retaining clips off the headlight assembly using a flat head screwdriver.
Wedge the tip of the flat head screwdriver between the lens and the main housing.
Pry the lens off of the main housing.
