How to Reprogram the Remote Keyless Entry for a Buick Lucerne

by braniac

Before you reprogram the keyless entry for your Lucerne, make sure the battery is not dead in the remote. That is the usual cause for the keyless entry to stop working. However, if your battery is fine, and the keyless entry isn't working, a reprogram will probably do the trick. Follow the steps below to successfully reprogram your keyless entry in your Buick Lucerne.

Make sure the car is in Park. Then, using the Lucerne's onboard system, press the "vehicle information" button until you see "Press to Relearn Remote Key"

Press the set/reset button until REMOTE KEY LEARNING ACTIVE is displayed.

Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the transmitter simultaneously for about 15 seconds.

The car will chime indicating that the transmitter is matched. Keep in mind that if your car has memory seats, the first transmitter reprogrammed is for Driver 1.

Exit the programming mode by turning the key to the off position.
