How to Program the Keyless Remote in a Chevy Impalaby Matthew Fortuna
One of the top sellers for Chevrolet for over a decade, the Impala features a number of the manufacturer's top technologies and capabilities. The vehicle's keyless remote entry system can be operated from as far as a couple hundred feet away, and lets you easily access your locks, engine and trunk. You can program your remote for an Impala yourself, whether the system was installed by the dealership or after market.
Enter your vehicle with your ignition key in hand and close all of the doors behind you.
Insert your key into the ignition and turn the key to the "On" position. Switch off the radio.
Press and hold the "DISP" button on the radio until the "Settings" menu appears on the radio display.
Press the down or up arrows until the display reads "FOB PROG," and press the "Next" button.
Press the "DISP" button again and wait for the display to read "PUSH FOB."
Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on your keyless remote until the car responds with a chime. This may take up to 15 seconds.
Repeat step six to program any additional remotes.
Press the "DISP" button again to exit the programming mode and you will be free to use your newly programmed remotes.
