How to Open the Trunk in a Mazda 6
by Robert MooreUnder normal conditions, you can open the trunk on your Mazda 6 by pressing the release button on your keyless entry remote or by pressing the release button inside the vehicle. In the event of a dead battery, access the trunk by lowering the rear seat back and pushing the trunk release lever.
Emergency Seat Release
Open the small access door on the rear deck, just behind the passenger-side headrest. On 2007-to-2012 models, pull the lever toward the front of the vehicle and lower the seat back. On 2013-and-newer models, turn the lever counterclockwise to release the seat back. Find the lever on the trunk latch, and push it toward the passenger side of the vehicle to open the trunk lid.
