Finding the fuel filter on a 1995 Ford Taurus can be a hassle, especially if you have no idea where to begin looking. However, you might need to get to it to replace it. Ford recommends that you replace your fuel filter every 25,000 miles. Fuel filters help filter dirt particles out of your fuel before it flows into your engine, thus protecting your fuel injector from clogging up.

Step 1

Park your Ford Taurus in a safe area on level ground. Apply your parking brake. You will need to get underneath your vehicle to find the fuel filter.

Step 2

Locate the fuel filter by crawling underneath your Taurus near the passenger side door. The fuel filter is located almost directly below the passenger seat on the passenger's side of the fuel tank along the vehicle frame.

Step 3

Identify the fuel filter as a silver or black cylindrical canister about three inches in diameter. The fuel filter will have a black hose, the fuel line, coming out at both ends. This is your fuel filter.
