The N-series works in numerous roles, ranging from simple commercial transportation vehicles, to passenger transit via a microbus conversion. The 2011 Isuzu NPR ECO-MAX, a recent addition to the N-Series, is a medium-duty truck designed to achieve better fuel economy than other entries in the N-Series.
Engine
The 2011 Isuzu NPR ECO-MAX is equipped with Isuzu's 4JJ1-TC engine. This 3.0 liter turbocharged intercooled diesel engine is equipped with a common-rail fuel injection system. This engine produces 150 horsepower at 2,800 rpm and generates 282 foot-pounds of torque at 1,600 to 2,800 rpm. It also features a 110-amp alternator, dash-mounted oil level check switch and light, and two maintenance-free 750-CCA batteries.
Transmission
The 2011 Isuzu NPR ECO-MAX comes standard with an Aisin A460 six-speed automatic transmission. This transmission features double overdrive and lock-up from the second to the sixth gear.
Suspension & Brakes
The front wheels of the 2011 Isuzu NPR ECO-MAX feature tapered spring suspension which can hold a maximum load of 6,830 pounds. The rear wheels feature multi-leaf spring suspension and can hold a maximum load of 9,880 pounds. The front wheels are also equipped with vacuum-powered disc brakes, while the rear wheels have hydraulic drum brakes with four-channel ABS. An exhaust brake is also standard with the NPR.
