How to Find the Fabrication Year on a Toyo Tire
by Tim PlaehnThe U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) requires that all tires sold in the U.S. be stamped or labeled with certain information. The required information includes the manufacture or fabrication date of the tire. Like other tire manufacturers, information that details the fabrication date of Toyo tires is printed on the outside of the tire.
Step 1
Locate the DOT number on the sidewall of the tire. The DOT number starts with DOT and is followed by 10 to 12 letters or numerals.
Step 2
Write down or note the last for digits of the DOT number. These digits will be all numerals such as 2108 or 3310.
Step 3
Decode the fabrication date of the tire using the first two digits as the week and the last two as the year of manufacture. For example, if the code is 3310, the tire was manufactured in the 33rd week of 2010.

Tips
- If the DOT number you find is too short, turn the tire over. The full DOT number is on the other side.
- Tires produced before the year 2000 will have a three-digit date code, with the year represented by the third digit.
