Where Is the Emergency Trunk Release in a Chrysler 300?
by Leonardo R. GrabkowskiThe Chrysler 300 comes standard with an emergency trunk release. This release is located inside the trunk compartment. The release could prove to be a life-saving tool, if one is ever locked inside the car's trunk.
Description
The Chrysler 300's emergency trunk release is located inside the trunk, on the top edge of the trunk lid. It is shaped like a small handle and made of a glow-in-the-dark material, which makes it easy for someone to see if locked in the trunk.
Purpose
The primary purpose for the emergency trunk release is to allow someone to open the trunk lid to get out, in case he is accidentally locked in the trunk, or if he's forcefully locked in the trunk. It could allow one to escape if he's being held hostage in the trunk.
Other Ways of Opening the Trunk
The remote keyless entry is the primary way of opening the trunk. To open the trunk using the remote, push and hold the button with the "Trunk" icon for two seconds. The trunk lid will unlock and partially pop open. There is also a trunk-release button on the dash, to the left of the steering wheel.
