How to Get a Free Disability Van
by Jennifer SimonSometimes just speaking out about what you need can be the ticket to having your dreams come true. If you need a disability van, you already know how expensive they can be. There are grants and loans available to organizations and individuals but often the grants don't cover enough of the costs and loan payments are too high. There is a program that helps individuals get free cars, including disability vans. The process can take several months or even years as participants are not guaranteed to receive a free vehicle. If you do receive a free van however, the wait and work is well worth it.
Step 1
Go to the Free Charity Cars website and create a personal profile. In the profile, explain why you deserve a free car or van. Explain your situation in as much detail as possible. Visitors to the website can vote on your profile and improve your rating. The higher your rating, the more likely you are to receive a free vehicle.
Step 2
Ask your friends and family to visit the website and vote for your profile. Ask them to ask their friends to vote for you, as well. Keep a watch on your vote generation. As your votes increase so does the possibility of attaining the vehicle.
Step 3
Apply for the free vehicle by filling out the online application. Once you apply, you are not guaranteed a car and the process has no time frame. When a vehicle that meets your needs becomes available in your area, the candidates in that area with the highest profile rating will be reviewed to receive the van or car. You will be eligible also for automotive related help, such as loan funding or maintenance assistance.
