How to Change the Headlights on a Chevrolet Venture
by Leonardo R. GrabkowskiThe Chevrolet Venture is a minivan manufactured from 1997 to 2005. For the 2006 model-year, the front end was redesigned and it was renamed the Chevrolet Uplander, although the chassis and other major components were carried over from the Venture. The process of changing the headlights on the Chevrolet Venture is the same for all models.
Step 1
Shut off the engine and open the hood.
Step 2
Turn the thumbscrew on the corner of the headlight you want to change. This screw mounts the side-marker assembly, which must be removed to access the headlight.
Step 3
Pull the side-marker assembly out a few inches, and then twist the bulb module counterclockwise to release it from the assembly. Set the assembly aside.
Step 4
Pull the headlight assembly away from the engine bay. Remove the black plastic ring behind the assembly by turning it counterclockwise.
Step 5
Disconnect the old bulb from the black plastic ring. Install the new bulb into the ring, but do not touch the glass bulb--hold it by the plastic module.
Step 6
Reinsert the black plastic ring into the rear of the headlight assembly. Turn it clockwise to lock it.
Step 7
Reposition the headlight assembly in place, and then reattach the side-marker bulb module to the side-marker assembly (turn it clockwise). Reposition the side-marker assembly and tighten the thumbscrew.
