How to Change the Cabin Filter on a Nissan D40 Navara

by David Clair

Some models of the Nissan D40 Navara are equipped with a cabin filter that blocks dust, debris and allergens from entering the cab of the truck. Nissan recommends replacing the cabin air filter every 10,000 miles or 12 months. A clean cabin filter improves air flow in the ventilation system and is cleans the inside air. The cabin filter in the D40 Navara comes in two pieces that should be replaced together.

Open the glove box.

Press in on the sides to unlock the glove box from the dash. Let it hang by the cord.

Lift up on the cabin filter cover to remove it from the filter housing.

Pull the exposed filter out of the filter housing.

Slide the second filter over into the opening. Pull the filter out of the housing.

Insert the first new filter into the filter housing. Make sure the arrow printed on the filter points toward the rear of the vehicle.

Slide the filter over to make room for the next filter. Insert the second new filter into the filter housing.

Replace the filter cover. Press in on the cover to snap it into place.

Lift the glove box up to hook it back into the dash.
