How to Adjust a Honda XR 200 Carb
by Robert GoodHonda's XR line of motorcycles are enduro bikes that can be ridden off road or on the streets without changing the tires. Buy a license plate for your XR200 and ride it on the road every day if you want to. The carburetor is easy to adjust, but you need to have the adjustment chart to do this correctly. Any type of riding that you do needs the carburetor specifically adjusted to that style.
Step 1
Turn the gas valve to the off position. The gas valve is at the bottom of the gas tank and is connected to the hose coming from the gas tank to the carburetor.
Step 2
Open the owner's manual and find the carburetor adjustment chart at the end of the manual. Use the screwdriver to tighten all of the jets and air valve on the surface of the carburetor. Do not over-tighten jets or the air valve.
Step 3
Loosen the jets and air valve according to the chart. Turn the jets and air valve to the left one rotation at a time until you meet the specifications for your riding type according to the adjustment chart.
