The Yaris is a subcompact car manufactured by Toyota since 1999. The 2007 Yaris has a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine. The oil filter is located on the bottom of the engine towards the front of the car. The drain plug is located on the front of the oil pan under the engine. You should check the oil level at least twice a month.

Oil Weight and Amount

The 2007 Yaris requires 3.9 quarts of SAE 5W-30 weight oil when changing the oil filter and 3.6 quarts when not changing the oil filter. The 5W-30 weight oil is good for all temperatures.

Oil Plug Torque Specifications

Check the oil drain plug and gasket for signs of damage or wear. A worn drain plug or torn gasket can lead to leaks. Replace the oil drain plug or gasket if damaged. Torque the 2007 Yaris oil drain plug to 28 foot-pounds.

Oil Filter

The 2007 Yaris comes with a Toyota 90915-YZZF2 oil filter. When changing the oil filter, you can use any manufacturer's equivalent. Be sure to remove the rubber gasket from the old filter when changing the oil filter. Use fresh oil to lubricate the new oil filter gasket before installing it. Install the new oil filter to hand tight plus a three-quarter turn. Over-tightening the oil filter can damage the gasket and cause oil leaks.
