How to Program a Jaguar Garage Door Opener
by Anthony SmithOne of the many convenient features in Jaguar cars are the buttons located on the overhead console that serve as remote garage-door openers. The buttons eliminate the need for keeping track of a hand-held remote.
Step 1
Erase all previous programming by pressing and holding the two outer buttons until the indicator light begins to flash. This will take approximately 20 seconds.
Step 2
Go to the actual garage door opener unit and locate the "learn" or "smart" button. Most are clearly marked, but one may need to refer to the owner's manual to locate it.
Step 3
Press and then release the "learn" or "smart" button.
Step 4
Go back to the car and press and hold down the button (any of the three) desired for use as the garage-door opener.
Step 5
Repeat steps 3 and 4 three consecutive times. This is due to the rolling code programming that is on most newer garage door openers and will allow the devices to be programmed together. Once completed, the garage-door opener buttons are programmed.
Tips
- Older garage-door openers without rolling code technology may allow for programming using one of the hand-held remote controls.
