Oil Recommendations for a Suzuki Katanaby Gus Stephens
Suzuki marketed its popular Katana model lines in North America from the late 1980s through 2006 with the GSX-F series. The GSX600F featured a four-stroke, 600cc, 80 horsepower, 16-valve, air/oil-cooled engine.
Suzuki recommends oil and filter change on the GSX600F after a one-month or 600-mile break-in period, then every six months or 3,500 miles, whichever comes first.
Oil capacity of the Suzuki GSX600F is 3.7 quarts (3,500 ml.)
The GSX600F owner's manual recommends a premium quality, four-stroke motor oil rated SF or SG under the API classification. The recommended viscosity is SAE 10W-40.
