How to Make a Window Film Application Solution

by Nick Davis

Tinting your vehicle's or home's windows is a task that can save you money and time. You don't have to take your vehicle into a shop or pay a window film installer to come out to your home and do the job. Making a window film application solution is not difficult. All you need is the right soap and a spray bottle. Once mixed, the solution is ready to use and easily recycled.

Pour one quart bottled water into a pot or sauce pan.

Add ¼ teaspoon no-tears baby shampoo to the pot or sauce pan.

Agitate the soap mixture with a spoon.

Open a spray bottle and put the sprayer to the side.

Pour the soap mixture into the spray bottle using a funnel to keep the mixture from spilling.

Place the sprayer back on the bottle and make sure it is on tightly.

Warning

  • close Do not use tap water in your soap mixture---it will leave spots under the window film.
