How to Install a 12-Volt Adapter for a Golf Cart
by Erick KristianGolf carts are small vehicles that can be gas or electric powered. Golf carts are used not just on the links. Some communities, mainly resort and retirement developments, are golf cart only. The majority of golf carts are electric powered, using 12-volt batteries. Installing a 12-volt A/C power adapter on a golf cart is relatively simple, as the adapter connects directly to the battery.
Step 1
Open the engine bay of the golf cart. This is usually under the rear seats or the back of the cart.
Step 2
Locate a 12-volt battery. The cart may have several of these batteries.
Step 3
Connect the negative wire from the converter to the ground (negative) terminal on the battery.
Step 4
Connect the positive wire from the converter to the positive terminal on the battery.
Step 5
Run the A/C end (outlet) of the converter to the main cabin of the golf cart.
Step 6
Plug a device into the converter's outlet. Test to make sure the converter is working.
