Items you will need

  • Pencil eraser

  • Cleaning eraser

  • Rubbing alcohol

  • Water

  • Cleaning rags

When you have scuff marks on your car dash, you want something that removes them quickly without harming the vinyl surface. Since you are cleaning an area inside of the vehicle, you also want to stay away from strong chemical cleaners that carry odors and harmful vapors since you will spend time in this confined area. Luckily, a few techniques will quickly remove the scuffs without using chemicals and without harming the vinyl.

Rub a pencil eraser over the scuff marks, scrubbing just as you would to remove a pencil mark from a sheet of paper.

Dampen a cleaning eraser under tap water and squeeze out excess water. Scrub this over the vinyl car dash to remove thicker scuffs that the pencil eraser did not successfully remove.

Moisten the edge of a cleaning rag with rubbing alcohol if you are still left with scuff mark residue. Rub this rag over the scuff marks to remove any leftover residue.

Run water over the edge of a cleaning rag and wipe down the surface to remove any leftover alcohol residue, and wipe down the dash with a dry area of the rag when finished.
