How to Change Oil in a 2005 Chevrolet Impala

2 Ramp lifts
Drain pan
Ratchet set
New oil filter
5 quarts 10W40 engine oil
The 2005 Chevrolet Impala's oil pan drain plug is located on the bottom of the oil pan. The oil pan is located on the bottom of the engine. After you have drain the engine oil from the oil pan the oil filter needs to be replaced. The oil filter is located on the side of the oil pan. The oil filter is screw into the engine. This is a basic job that will take about 20 minutes to complete.
Position the ramp lifts in front of the front tires. Drive the 2005 Chevrolet Impala onto the ramp lifts. Set the parking brake. Position the drain pan under the oil pan's drain plug. Remove the plug and allow the engine oil to completely drain. Replace the plug to the oil pan.
Unscrew the oil filter and pull it off of the engine. Fill the new oil filter with engine oil and screw it into the engine. Get out from underneath the 2005 Chevrolet Impala. Remove the drain pan from under the 2005 Chevrolet Impala and back the 2005 Chevrolet Impala off of the ramp lifts.
Open the 2005 Chevrolet Impala's hood and remove the oil pour valve cap. Insert the funnel into the pour valve. Pour 4.5 quarts of engine oil into the funnel. Remove the funnel and replace the pour valve's cap. Close the hood and start the engine to circulate the new engine oil.
