How to Remove Cigarette Smells From Your Car

by braniac

Removing cigarette odor from your car is surprisingly easy. Cigarette odor left is a car can cause a stale and nasty smell that not many people enjoy. Here is how to remove that smell.

Step 1

First air out your car. Open all the doors and trunk. Let it sit like this for the entire procedure. Fresh air will aid you in removing the cigarette odor from your car. Take out all the floor mats and set aside for now.

Step 2

Take a box of baking soda and sprinkle generously all over the carpet of your car and the seats. Make sure to add a good amount. Now let it sit for a while and lets work on the floor mats.

Step 3

With the floor mats take some soap and water. Begin to wash them. Preferably with a brush if you have one. Then hose them off and set them up to dry.

Step 4

Now go back to your car and start to vacuum up the baking soda. Be sure to get all the baking soda from the carpet and seats. Then take a damp rag and wipe off the dash and steering wheel. You don't need to use any kind of cleaning product. A damp rag will do the trick.

Now here comes the cool part. Take a medium size bowl and fill it halfway with vinegar. Sit the bowl some where safe inside the car. Close all the doors and windows and let it sit like that overnight. You'd be surprised at how much the vinegar will absorb the cigarette odor.
