How to Disable an F-150 Alarm
by Johnathan CronkThe Ford F-150 is a full sized pickup truck. The F-150 comes with a factory-installed alarm system. The alarm is designed to go off anytime someone tries to enter the locked vehicle. It's important to learn the proper way to use the alarm system, including disabling it when needed.
Step 1
Park the vehicle. Turn the engine off and remove the key from the ignition.
Step 2
Look at the instrument cluster on your dashboard. You will see an illuminated lock symbol. With the key out of the ignition, the indicator will flash once every two seconds. This means the system is ready.
Step 3
Insert the coded key in the ignition and turn it to the "On" position. This will start the engine and disarm the alarm. Only a coded key will disarm the alarm system.
Things You'll Need
- Coded key (from dealership when F-150 was purchased.)
