CrewMax Vs. Double Cab

The Toyota Tundra CrewMax and Double Cab trucks are offered in the SR5 and Limited trim packages. The Double Cab is equipped with either a 6.5-foot cargo box or an 8-foot bed. The CrewMax comes only with the short 5.5-foot cargo box. The Double Cab is comparable to domestic and import competitors' pickups. Interior
The major difference between the two models is the room inside the CrewMax, which seats up to six people. The truck's Interior dimensions are 40.2 and 38.7 inches in front and rear headroom, respectively; 42.5 and 44.5 inches in front and rear legroom, respectively; 66.6 and 65.4 inches of front and rear shoulder room, respectively; and 63 inches of hip room.
The Double Cab model is smaller and seats five people, with the following respective front and rear dimensions: 40.2 and 35.2 inches of headroom, 41.7 and 28.1 inches of legroom, 57.7 and 59.3 inches of shoulder room, and 53.6 and 55.2 of hip room.
Performance
The CrewMax is powered by a 4.7- or a 5.7-liter V-8 engine. The standard Toyota Tundra 4-liter V-6 engine is not available in the CrewMax. The truck's gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR), or maximum allowable weight when loaded with people and cargo, is about 7,000 lbs. Its towing capacity ranges from 10,100 to 10,400 lbs., and its maximum payload capacity is 1,680 lbs.
The Double Cab is offered only with the 4-liter V-6 engine. The gross vehicle weight rating for the four-wheel-drive model is 5,450 lbs. It has a towing capacity of 3,500 lbs., and the payload capacity is rated up to 1,540 lbs.
Price
The price of the four-wheel-drive Double Cab starts at $28,140, while the four-wheel-drive CrewMax starts at $30,965.
