Chevrolet makes cars, SUVs, trucks, vans, and hatchbacks. One of the SUV models that Chevrolet makes is the Blazer. Chevrolets are affectionately known as Chevys. Like any other motorized vehicle, the Blazer has a transmission, and just like with any transmission the fluid needs to be checked on a regular basis. Without enough fluid for the transmission it cannot work properly with your engine and you can end up destroying not only the transmission, but the engine of the Blazer as well.

Step 1

Open the hood of the Chevy Blazer.

Step 2

Look for the dipstick. It is located right around the engine, typically in the front of the engine or behind it.

Step 3

Turn the Blazer on for 15 minutes.

Step 4

Turn the Blazer off and wait 5 minutes.

Step 5

Pull the dipstick out of the chamber.

Step 6

Wipe it clean with the shop rag or dirty cloth.

Step 7

Stick it back into the chamber.

Step 8

Pull it out and look on the end of the dipstick. The level of transmission fluid should fall between "FULL" and "FILL." If it is above the "FULL" line, it is fine. If it is on or below the "FILL" line, add transmission fluid.
