How to Change the Running Board Lights in an Expedition
by Gregory CrewsThe Ford Expedition is a full-size sport utility vehicle that comes with a lot of extras. Running board lights are one of the many items this truck has that not a lot of sport utility vehicles have. The lights come on when the door is unlocked for the safety of the passengers as they enter and exit the vehicle. The lights also help the visibility of the truck when driving at night or in bad weather.
Step 1
Locate the light assemblies on the running boards. There will be four light assemblies on each running board.
Step 2
Pry the light assembly cover out with a flat-tip screwdriver. The socket will be inside the light.
Step 3
Pull the socket out of the assembly by hand. The light bulb will be attached to the socket.
Step 4
Take the light out of the socket and push in the new light. Push it back into the assembly.
Step 5
Push the assembly cover back over the light. The cover will lock in place once it is inserted correctly.
Step 6
Test the lights by turning the truck lights on. Replace any other running light bulb as needed the same way.
