How to Change the Instrument Panel Bulbs in a Chevy Impala
by John JohnstonThe instrument panel on a Chevy Impala is an important part as it allows you to see how fast you're going and how much fuel you have remaining. Over time the bulbs can become worn out and stop working. When this occurs you must look to replace the bulbs as soon as possible. Not having a correctly working instrument panel is not only putting you, but everyone on the road, in danger as you won't know how fast your going. The process is fairly simple and can be carried out in minutes.
Step 1
Move the steering column to its lowest possible position. This will allow you to gain easy access to the instrument panel.
Step 2
Remove the two screws that hold the bezel around the panel in place using the Phillips-head screwdriver. Carefully lift the bezel out of the dash and move it to one side.
Step 3
Loosen and remove the three screws that fix the instrument panel in place on the Chevy Impala.
Step 4
Detach the connector which holds the panel in place and pull the panel out of the dash. Unscrew any bulbs which are defective and replace them. Make sure the bulbs are correctly locked in place.
Step 5
Attach the connector and insert the panel back in the dash. Screw back in place and fix the bezel around it. Turn on the engine to ensure all the instrument panel lights are now working correctly on the Chevy Impala.
