How to Adjust the Headlamps of a 2005 Silverado Truck
by David ClairIt is important to keep the headlamps on the 2005 Chevrolet Silverado truck properly adjusted so that proper visibility is achieved when driving at night. Proper headlamp adjustment will also prevent the light from the Silverado headlights from distracting drivers in oncoming lanes. Adjusting the low beams of the 2005 Silverado will automatically adjust the high beams to their proper position; the beams can be adjusted using the adjustment screw on top of the headlight housing.
Step 1
Park the Silverado 20 feet in front of a large, flat wall. Position the truck so that it is directly facing the wall.
Step 2
Turn the headlights on. Open the hood.
Step 3
Locate the headlamp adjustment screw on the top of the headlamp housing--this is the screw located near the center of the top of the housing.
Step 4
Turn the adjustment screw clockwise or counterclockwise, until the center of the beam shines on the spot where the bottom of the wall meets the ground.
