The moonroof on your Ford Fusion may be showing its age if you've owned it for a number of years. A number of problems can develop with the Fusion's moonroof. Debris can get lodged in the moonroof track, causing leaks, or the fuse for the roof can blow out. Regardless of the issue, simple troublehsooting can resolve most problems with your moonroof.

Step 1

Open the fuse panel under the steering wheel by pulling down on the panel.

Step 2

Remove the fuse for the moonroof with the supplied fuse pullers in the fuse panel.

Step 3

Check that the metal strip in the fuse isn't burnt or broken. If it is, replace it with a fuse of the same amperage.

Step 4

Check the track of the moonroof. Try to open the moonroof and inspect the seal for damage. If your moonroof is having trouble opening or closing, the seal is sometimes the culprit. The seal may fold in on the track or it may crack and peel, making it difficult for the roof to close all the way.

Step 5

Check for debris in the track of the moonroof. Dirt and debris can prevent the roof from opening or closing properly. Clean out the track with your fingers or a stiff bristled brush. If there is a lot of debris in the track, you may need to do a thorough cleaning with soap and water.
