Specifications for 1990 Chevrolet Trucks

The 1990 Chevrolet C/K 1500 truck is available with a regular cab or extended cab, which provides extra seating. The 1990 Chevy truck comes in two- or four-wheel drive and has either a six-and-a-half foot bed or an 8-foot bed. The standard transmission for nearly every trim is a four-speed automatic with overdrive. However, the 454 SS comes standard with a three-speed automatic transmission.

Engine Specs

All trims come with a standard 4.3-liter, six-cylinder engine. However, the extended-cab trim has the option of the 6.2-liter diesel engine. The 454 SS comes standard with the larger, 7.4-liter engine. The 4.3 liter is a 160-horsepower engine that produces 235 foot-pounds of torque at 2,800 rpm. The bore for the 4.3 liter is 4.0 inches and the stroke is 3.48 inches. This engine has a compression ratio of 9.3:1.

The 6.2-liter engine is an eight-cylinder, 240-horsepower engine. It produces 240 foot-pounds of torque. The bore is 3.98 inches with a stroke of 3.82 inches. The larger 7.4-liter engine is a V8. It produces 230 horsepower with a bore of 4.25 inches and a stroke of 4.0 inches.

Exterior Specs

The Chevrolet truck comes with two doors. The 1990 C/K 1500 regular cab with a six-and-a-half foot bed and the 454 SS has a wheel base of 117.50 inches. The overall length is 194.10 inches. The regular-cab Chevrolet truck with an 8-foot bed has a wheelbase measurement of 131.50 inches. The length is 212.60 inches.

The extended-cab 1990 C/K 1500 with a six-and-a-half foot bed has a wheelbase of 141.50 inches an overall length of 212.60. The extended cab with an 8-foot bed has a wheelbase of 155.50 inches and a length measurement of 237.0 inches. The width is 76.80 inches for each trim.

Interior Specs

The regular cab 1990 Chevrolet truck seats up to three passengers and the extended cab has room for up to six. According to Edmunds, the headroom dimension is 39.9 inches, the legroom available is 41.70 inches and the shoulder room is 66.0 inches.

Fuel Specs

The 1990 C/K 1500 with a six-and-a-half foot bed has a 25-gallon fuel tank; whereas, the 8-foot bed trim as a 34-gallon fuel tank. The 4.3-liter engine is rated between 16 and 17 mpg in the city and between 20 and 22 mpg on the highway. The 6.2-liter gets between 16 and 18 mpg in the city and 21 and 23 mpg on the highway. The larger 7.4-liter engine is rated at 10 mpg in the city and 11 mpg on the highway.
