How to Reset a Security System on an Infiniti Q45
by Teri OlcottThe Infiniti Q45 is a full-size luxury car manufactured by Nissan from 1990 to 2006. The security System on a Q45 uses a proximity sensor and a vehicle immobilizer switch to help prevent unauthorized entry and theft of the car. When the alarm is tripped, the headlights will flash and the horn will sound. If the alarm has been tripped in error, you will need to reset the security system to silence the alarm. Depending on the year of the Q45, the alarm will stop and reset automatically on its own after one to three minutes.
Step 1
Insert the ignition key into any door or the trunk lid and unlock the door or trunk. You also can use the unlock button on the remote control to unlock any door or the trunk. This will silence the alarm.
Step 2
Get in the car and insert the ignition key into the ignition, but do not start the car.
Step 3
Remove the ignition key from the ignition.
Step 4
Exit the car and lock the doors using either the ignition key or remote control.
Step 5
Verify that the security indicator light on the dash illuminates. The security light will glow for about 30 seconds and then blink. The security system is now reset.
