How to Reset a Mercedes Benz Computer Module
by David ClairEvery Mercedez-Benz automobile is equipped with an on-board computer that monitors and regulates many functions of the vehicle. When the sensors connected to the computer detect a problem, an error code is generated. After the issue has been resolved, the computer may need to be reset with an OBD II scan tool, in order to remove the error codes.
Step 1
Plug the OBD II scan tool connector into the socket to the left and slightly below the steering wheel.
Step 2
Turn the ignition switch to "ON."
Step 3
Press the power button on the scan tool, if it does not come on automatically. Wait for the tool to complete the scanning process.
Step 4
Press the "Reset" or "Erase" button on the scan tool to reset the computer codes.
