Your Honda Odyssey is equipped with an in-dash warning system. Part of that system alerts you when your engine oil has reached the end of its usable life. If you take your car to a service center for an oil change, they will typically reset the oil change indicator for you. If you change your oil at home, you can reset the oil change light yourself to ensure that your alert system is accurate and functioning properly.

LX, EX, EX-L and DX Models

Step 1

Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the “ON” position. Push the “Select/Reset” button until you access the oil life indicator.

Step 2

Hold the “Select/Reset” button down until you see the indicator and maintenance codes blink. It should happen within about 10 seconds. Release the button.

Step 3

Immediately press the “Select/Reset” button again and the oil indicator will reset to 100. Release the button and remove the ignition key.

Touring Models

Step 1

Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the “ON” position. Push the “SEL/RESET” button on your steering wheel until the oil life indicator appears.

Step 2

Press and hold the “SEL/RESET” button until you see the “CUSTOM SETUP” display. Release the button when “CUSTOM SETUP” appears.

Step 3

Press and release the “SEL/RESET” button one more time to reset the indicator. The oil life display should now read “100” and any maintenance codes are no longer displayed.
