How do I Remove the Bumper From Vehicles

A cracked, broken or otherwise damaged bumper on your Vehicles will not provide much protection in the event of another collision. You need to remove the bumper Vehicles replacement as soon as you can. You might also need to remove the bumper temporarily to work on other parts of the body or chassis. The process of removing a front or rear bumper is similar, with only a few differences on what extra parts you must remove to access them. There can also be slight variances depending on the year of the Vehicles.

Under The Hood:

 How do I Remove the Bumper From a Chevrolet S10 Blazer?

Pull the grille forward slowly and carefully to detach its clips from the radiator support, then remove the hose from the grille if it has headlight washers. This is needed if you are removing the front bumper.

Reach behind the rear bumper to rotate and remove the license plate light bulb holder. You'll need to unclip it on some models. If the truck has a step-bumper, pull the housing upward and then out.

Unscrew and remove the bolts connecting the bumper to the chassis using a Torx wrench. Remove the bolts connecting the bumper brace to the frame using a standard wrench.

Lift and remove the bumper from the truck's front end. This might require a second person's help.

Disconnect the electrical connectors for the left and right parking lights from their housings within the bumper if you are removing a front bumper.

 How to Remove the Bumper From a Toyota Prius

Raise the Toyota Prius onto jack stands. Lift up on the front jack point of the Prius, located just behind the radiator. Put jack stands underneath the front pinch welds which are located underneath the driver and passenger side doors on the underside of the car. Then lower the vehicle onto the stands.

Unscrew the screws in the front wheel wells using a screwdriver. Pull the wheel liner down.

Unbolt the ten bolts on the underside of the bumper. These hold the bumper to the bumper guard.

Grab onto the front of the bumper and pull the bumper forward to remove it. There are several plastic retaining clips that will pop out of the top of the bumper so you may need to pull rather hard to remove the bumper.

Unplug the power connector running to the back of the fog light ballast if your Prius is equipped with fog lights.

 How to Remove a Bumper From a 2005 Camry

Front Bumper

Remove the row of five screws on the edge of the front bumper, just in front of the rear tires,with a Phillips screwdriver. Push the black plastic inner fender out of the way so you can see the back side of the bumper.

Reach up to the seam where the bumper and fender meet to find three bolts. Remove these bolts with a ratchet and a 10-mm socket.

Open the hood of the Camry and look on each end of the grille. There is one 12-mm bolt on each side. Remove these with a socket and pull the bumper from the car.

Rear Bumper

Remove the row of five bolts from the front edge of the rear bumper, just behind the rear tires, with a Phillips screwdriver.

Reach inside the rear bumper where the bumper meets with the rear quarter panel of the car, just behind the rear tire. Remove the row of bolts with a ratchet and 10mm socket.

Open the trunk and find the row of plastic clips along the top of the bumpre on the outside of the trunk. These clips look like plastic circles. Pry them up with a flat screwdriver until they pop out. Pull the bumper off of the Camry.
