How to Recycle a Camperby Artesia Peluso
Recycling turns a material that could become trash into a valuable product or resource. If you have an old camper that has been parked in your garage or sitting in your driveway, there are a few options you can explore in order to recycle it.
Unhook your camper from your vehicle. This is a two person job. Set the camper down on the ground so that it is level.
Take the shell apart by taking off the windows, walls and doors, etc. You can accomplish this by pulling these pieces off with your hand or using a chisel and hammer to dislodge the parts from the shell.
Turn your shell into a shady playhouse for your kids or a storing shed. Camper shells are extremely durable and and can be used as a shelter for just about anything.

Load the parts onto a trailer or in the bed of a pickup truck.
Take the parts to your local recycling center where they can be reused for various purposes.
Locate your nearest salvage yard or camper surplus store. If your camper is in good condition, you could sell the whole camper. The yard will sell parts to camper owners looking to save cash on parts or rebuild a camper.
Contact the yard and ask if they buy salvaged vehicles. If they do, hitch your camper to your vehicle and take to the yard to turn it in for cash.
Arrange a pick up of your old camper. Some salvage yards will pick up vehicles of any kind complimentary or charge small fee which they will deduct from the price they pay for the camper.
